Hold signals.
All systems hold their long positions. Judging by the weakness in the VIX there appears to be little fear in this market. That's a little bothersome considering the damage that has been done the past few days. I will continue to hold 50% long XIV and 25% long AAPL over the weekend. See you all Monday. Based upon std Seasonality Thesis, historical odds, it's an attempt to "Win the Loser's Game" to be short in the month of November. Remember the old saying, sell in May and buy on All Saints Day? So I'm delighted by this composite signal, I can't imagine a better stop-out concept for any seasonal LONGs than its next exit signal.

J, we had the "woosh" Friday (as requested, hee hee...), and I finished adding my longs for this round. Fully committed. Any more would put me leveraged -- something I would do (in moderation), but don't like to. All I saw Friday (unlike the prior 2 days) was controlled buying (no panic), for 3 hours from 8:30am onward. They're hammering in a local low here.
ReplyDeleteAs you point out wrt the VIX, my indicators agree -- any rally here is purely counter-trend (CT). The bears own this, still. It's just that there're great odds for a sharp short-squeeze that I want to play here, along w/you. Glad to have your company again.

ReplyDeleteFired up the systems... unless something weird happens, I foresee the JT Comp remaining 100% long XIV. I'm okay with that, but man it's tempting to take some profits with XIV up ~6% and TNA red... It's a gift.
