CCI covers.

The JT Comp system moves to 50% short. The JTS remains 100% short while the CCI moves all cash. I will cut back a small portion of my shorts but still maintain a large position. Thanks.

  1. Bears need to take out 1452... and not on some stupid (obvious) gap down open, like today was. Great day to fade the gap. If the bears want traction, they gotta stop letting the bulls gap 'er down like that. So obvious.... but very profitable to play.

  3. Alex, could you explain the reason for your choice? To state that you're opening a position is not particularly helpful; what would be helpful is to go into the reasons for your choice, especially in a strong contango, QE3, environment.

  5. Hopefully because he knows the Dow is going to shed 500 points this week. :-D

    1. THAT would be nice, then we can go long for the rest of the year...

      This sideways junk is annoying...

    2. Agreed. I would like to believe this is the calm before the storm. I want to see some volatility back in this market.

    3. I am afraid that, even though everything LOOKS like we should go down some... that "they" will rip it higher...

I am so tempted to go to cash...

  6. i'm getting tired of trading the TNA/TZA index. It's impossible for any "System" to determine short-term mkt direction. (My portfolio badly trails the buy-and-hold SPY.) so I'm out of TNA/TZA for now, chasing a momentum stock, BBSI. It goes up regardless of mkt direction. (until it inevitably collapses)

  7. Have you been following J's system? As of August, the Comp system was up 43.43% whereas SPY is up 13.55% as of Aug. 30. I can understand that you might feel that such returns might not be available in the future, but your point is lost on me regarding this year.

  8. If the market sells off any this afternoon, I am setting a BE stop once I get in the money... taking no chances.

  10. Again, I find the fact that you're short uninteresting.

What I, and others, would like to know is the reasoning behind your position.

    1. Yes, I'm also curious why u shorted volatility during strong contango? Because XIV is overbought vs other ETF's?

    2. Hi J

Let,s say i opened a position for TNA for 10.000 i would have 151 shares from 66.00$ i could make 576.00$ until closing
I bought XIV 10.000 from 18.20 ENTRY PRICE and 549 shares makes $824 profit that,s why i went on XIV
And for contango period for example if XIV managed to close above 18.42 last night my system would ride it up to 21 34
Since last week i have been riding soxs so i knew market would crash very badly

  12. Again, saying "my system went short" is as meaningless as saying you went short. Can you tell us something about the logic of your system, how it works, what data it uses, etc.?

  13. Go to hell, your system is a fucking piece of shit and you are a fucking moron!
