Both systems hold...

Both systems will remain out of phase, with the JTSystem holding the long position and the CCI remaining short.

This keeps me on the sidelines... Made some good progress on updated CCI system today.

Take care!

  2. Bot back some more of the longs I sold the other day... nice dip-action later this morning, providing a great buying op. That 5/18 Dow washout day is truly key. They probed that lows again, and the mkt reversed sharply, spending only 30min below it. Unless we have some serious oh-shit, they've run out of sellers down there.
Will finish buying back my longs if we can get a seriously large drop tomorrow, esp on the open.

    2. If we get a big sell off into the close, I may sell the last of my TZA and sit in all cash until Monday.

I am really not liking all of the bad news out there and the PPT is just hankering to get the go ahead...

  4. I find this fascinating.

Everyone wants a system. They say they're tired of sweating every trading decision and, besides, over the long run, they're like over 90% of all traders, they lose money.

So they start following a system. And, the next thing you know, they decide that this call isn't good, or that signal is premature, or something, and they're back to discretionary trading.

As I've said before, what appears to be ridiculously simple, following a system, is devilishly hard. What is actually easy is making ad hoc decisions. I guess that's the way the human brain is wired.

  7. CCI is probably going to a buy today. With the other system on a buy, I'm going long. 200 day SMA should provide a great entry.

  8. Hmmm - today's got the feeling of a washout day to me. Although I think the longer trend (ie. 30 days) remains down. Just sayin'...

  9. I'm long now.

CCI is definitely a buy signal. So long as this isn't one of those rare losing trades, a long trade should pay off nicely here.

First touch of 200 day after 5+ months above is almost guaranteed to provide a bounce. That's my thinking anyway...
