Hold confirmed.
Another hold signal today keeps us 100% short. I had hoped to post some of my thoughts last night but once again life got in the way. I'll try to give it another shot tonight. You're thinking yeah, right... :)
I'm putting in B/E+1 stops on my remaining shorts, and started covering a smidge today...Don't want to give this short a long leash... if we rally, I'll just re-short higher. Got a free ride now. Thanks, J! One idea you should look into a correlation between profitable trades and length of time. Many systems have "sweet spots" for opportunity and you can use that to know when to move up stops. Just thought.
Because later today or tomorrow, most likely, we will be closing this trade out for a profit. Even "healthy" markets go sideways. And even healthy markets eventually become unhealthy.
Just set stop orders as I don't want this trade to go against me. All I can do at this point is hope I don't get stopped out before we have a sell of this afternoon. I can no longer understand why the markets are doing what they are doing... Also, we need to seriously consider your 1030 suggestion ;-)
I've taken some really good profits from your signal. Really tried to hang in til the eod call. But my greed got the better of me. Will tie my hands to the chair on the next signal you call.
What Lana says is very important. I see people taking half off here, adding a stop there, etc., and I can almost guarantee that these people will not do as well as J's system. I remember that J once said that you should forget about your investment in his system until a few minutes before the end of the trading day. This is very sound advice, but surprisingly difficult to follow.
Ouch, 5 minute lapse from post to email... Glad we are on a hold.
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone else is getting them faster ;-)
Life can be a pain. Hope you don't let it slow you down too much, J.
ReplyDeleteLIfe can be a pain but it beats the alternative.
DeleteStay vertical
LOL, good advice john. :)
DeleteThanks for your TA work and sharing. Have been playing and watching some of your signals.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure...and welcome. I wish I had more time to post more TA related stuff.

ReplyDeletehmmm, why do we keep trying to short a healthy market?
ReplyDeleteAnyone?
Anyone?

DeleteAttention: Everyone. I'm changing my strategy. From now on, I'm going long at 1030am ET and selling at 4pm. No more updates necessary. Take care all.
ReplyDeleteAll kidding aside, I'm looking for a buy signal today or tomorrow. We'll see... too early to tell at this point.
Too bad I didn't know of the buy at 1025 this morning...
DeleteWell, yesterday was the same way and Tuesday was... ugly

My proposed strategy is failing...and that is good news for us.
DeleteYes it is :-D

ReplyDeleteI may take half off now...
ReplyDeleteI'm seeing more downside to come. Right now seems like a good time to me to exercise some patience.
ReplyDeleteMichele,
Deleteyou talking about hours or days? BTW, good call last night.
