Just followed my plan today... Though the gap was not big by historic standards, it was enough to put on another small set of ES. Played the fade, and covered the lower set for a point and a half. Covered the remainder in A/H and am playing for a long pop overnight. If we don't get that, I'll SAR at B/E+1 and move back that set to short w/ya, J. So, this O/N play is just a hedge. Still got my longer-term swing short on w/ya, J.
Not a lotta action for swing traders in this mkt, so ya gotta grab some coin daytradin' or gap-playin', whichever is your fancy.
J, do you notice an inverse/indirect relationship between the duration of a signal and success rate? I feel like if it doesn't profit on day one, there's a very small chance that it eventually ends in profit.
Yeah, I've looked into that before b/c you're right, it does seem that way. At one point, I thought about implementing an automatic 3-day stop. After actually testing the idea however, results were worse. It was better in the end to suck it up and remain patient. Even 100% signals are wrong about 1/4 of the time....
CSCO is down after-hours. I imagine that it must be because of guidance. Might be just what the systems need.
ReplyDeleteAnother small range -- yet profitable -- day.

One more thing... if we close down big tomorrow, I'll be doing quite a bit of covering, if , for nothing more, than to play another overnight pop.
DeleteGrind, grind, grind...

DeleteInteresting. Thanks for the research!
DeleteBrad, that's very normal for systems like J's. Seen that many times before on other systems.
