The CCI will remain long with a hold signal. The JTS will go long if SPY closes 142.73 or lower. That would place the JT Comp 100% all-in long XIV. Otherwise, the JTS will remain short TNA and the JT Comp will remain sidelined.
If we get a long signal, I will purchase some XIV, but not 100% at this point. Perhaps 50% ish.
Thanks!
Holy cow... squeeze! Guess I'm staying sidelined today.
ReplyDeleteB/c SPY won't finish below my trigger for a JTS long.
Deleteoh, or lower... shoot, I can' read...
Deleteoh well, took a really small pos, just sell on open if down
DeleteI bet tomorrow gaps up, but what happens after that I'm clueless. I'm rooting for a washout, at least to 1400, in the coming days.
ReplyDeleteThat would be nice just to get it done and then we can head up...
DeleteEhhhnt. <--buzzer sound
DeleteMissed that call!
No kidding - me too. I sure wasn't expecting Dow down 250 today. I'm wishing now I'd held on to the SPXU I unloaded last Friday :-(
DeleteYeah, me too Michele...
DeleteThat was a SWEEEET action today... they stopped the Sp500 exactly at the 25% Fib of the rally from the June lows... you now have to be very careful here of a rally higher. I kinda hope it doesn't, but I respect that fib and the action off it. I took off a pile of shorts today. Not quite set for a good rally, but that 25% Fib is key for me in profit-taking. I had no clue they'd rally it so hard into the close like that. Must be expecting a big Obama victory tonight in the debate.
ReplyDeleteThe bears need to take out today's LOD w/gusto, and not on some BS gap down open.
Overall, this is still a tough call here, J. I'm w/you. But it would be foolish not to take profits on shorts when we hit targets like that fib, so I'm glad I did.
Don't listen to the stupid pollsters, that was clearly a Romney victory last night... and the futures show it... Dow nearly -80 now and I am covering more YM shorts.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I'll be traveling today and tomorrow, so may not be posting.
ReplyDeleteJKH, You clearly know what you're talking about when it comes to the stock market. But to call the debate last night a Romney victory is like saying the South won the battle at Gettysburg.
ReplyDeleteAgree Al, I thought it was pretty even. I feel I'm an objective observer as I'm not voting for either candidate. I'm still debating between voting Gary Johnson or writing in Ron Paul.
DeleteAnd yet another reason why President Obama will get re-elected. Wish the Green party had a lot more voters...
DeleteI personally believe it was more like a draw. Of course you will have some on both sides believing they won, but there wasn't anything huge that stuck out from either side. Few lies as usual...but we are used to that by now.
ReplyDeleteNice call on the spy number-- especially with the futes this morning.
ReplyDeleteJTS will try again to buy today, but we're stretched to the limit. If we break more than 1 SPX point below this morning's low, the buy signal is off the table. We may still get a cover signal, however. We'll have to see how it plays out.
ReplyDeleteJTS Buy signal is off the table. All it can do now is cover it's short position. It may not even do that. The volatility futures market has shifted to weak contango. Surprisingly no backwardation yet, meaning long signals are still using XIV. We could go 50% long today if the JTS covers and CCI remains long.
ReplyDeleteHi J
ReplyDeleteI keep stil my TZA long position from last week and i think XIV almost filling its gap let,s see
Cool...
DeleteI grabbed some XIV at $16
DeleteHopping we have seen a interim bottom and get a little bounce from here... XIV was down over 8% at the time :-D
9/6 gap not quite filled yet. I would expect a bit more downside, then next stop 50day retest!?!
ReplyDeleteSPY?
DeleteWell, lets hope for a 50% buy today and a 100% buy tomorrow...
At least I do :-)
My system closed my TZA long position at 12.00 a clock at price 16.30
ReplyDeletelet,s see the closing because i am riding nflx
