Composite: Hold Cash

Both systems are holding their respective (yet opposing) signals. This keeps the composite system sidelined until next week.

I may be able to assemble a weekend post... if so, I'll send a notification. Thanks and have a good weekend.

  1. Thx, JT. Love these pre-3:45 postings... although we understand it's often out of your hands.

Curious why it seemed CCI would go long, earlier today...

    1. SPY CCI(14) at the time was close enough to zero to trigger an exit. The bounce today killed it. More downside is expected next week.

  2. Now the CCI is giving a solid buy signal. I'm expecting the Composite system to go 100% long on the close today.

  3. law87,
In robot like fashion, I will wait until 3:59pm. :) I'm hoping we finish near the LOD.

  6. While I'm going long here, I'm not going to get too aggressive.

  7. @JT: Thanks once again,

@JIM: I have previously bought calls for TNA / TZA as the case may have been. First off, the IV is always high I found and understandably so. The times I had adverse market movement, the option value diminished remarkably sharply, I think because of Vega shrinking and of course Delta opposition.
I have contemplated selling ITM puts when I want to go long. However, this strategy limits your gains to the premium you earn and you could potentially make the same amount or more by merely going long TNA or TZA. Case in point was today, just before close, for a 46 TNA call expiring this Friday.

  8. I would consider futures before I considered options. Far fewer moving parts and eminis trade almost 24 hrs a day. But be careful of the leverage.
